Small Groups

Why Small Groups?
We believe that a small group is the best place for sustained life change to occur. In a small group, people study God's Word together and discuss the issues and challenges of life. It's also where they pray, care for one another, and are missed if they don't show up.

This is the environment where we celebrate the successes and good times of life, as well as comfort one another during the tough and disappointing times. It is a place to be encouraged, equipped, and challenged to become a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ.

Perhaps you’ve never been part of a group before and are wondering, “What’s the big deal? Why small groups?” There are many benefits of small groups - here are just two:

Authentic community
Small groups offer an opportunity for authentic community. Community can be defined by ABC: accountability, belonging and care.
·         Accountability is inviting people into your life to challenge you in your priorities and relationships.
·         Belonging is feeling accepted, connected and comfortable with a group of people.
·         Care is a natural by-product of people spending time together where everyone in the group is genuinely loved.

Spiritual growth
Small groups provide a nurturing environment for spiritual growth. Spiritual growth is characterized by the pursuit of three vital relationships- intimacy with God, community with insiders and influence with outsiders. A small group can be a great source of encouragement as we develop these three characteristics.

My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one…may they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them, even as you have loved me.”
                                                                         Jesus (John 17:20, 23)

When Do Small Groups Meet?
Each small group decides when and where it wants to meet. We can help you find groups that are meeting on a particular night or in a certain area of the city and connect you with them.

How Long Does A Small Group Last?
Most small groups form and immediately commit to meet for 12-24 months but the length of time that your group meets together is decided by your group.
